What Does the Team Manager Do?
The role of the team manager is to keep the team organized – primarily focusing on keeping parents informed about team practice, game, tournament schedules. Additionally, helping to coordinate volunteers for scoring games and other asks for help. The easiest way to understand this important role in the program is – coaches support the player on the ice, managers support the parents off the ice, parents support the players off the ice.

Below are a list of some considerations for Team Managers:
- Sweater & socks assignment
- Log player numbers to TeamSnap
- Keep roster of players names with number for tournaments
- Coordinate and communicate season kickoff meeting
- Rostering
- USA hockey rostering details
- Final USA Hockey roster to district – can’t remember if this is done passively or needs to be actively submitted to Districts
- Tournament rosters
- TeamSnap – assist parents on how to use
- Bonus points for checking availability and pestering those who don’t have it set
- Manager Team Budget – to be determined by treasurer
- Indoor Ice
- Tournaments
- Team party
- Load schedule to TeamSnap
- Practices
- Indoor ice at OJ
- Outdoor ice at LP and North Dale
- D1 games
- Verify schedule to D1 ref coordinator
- Designate scorebook/iPad, score board, and penalty box for all away games
- Guesst District games
- Verify schedule to guest district ref coordinator
- Designate scorebook/iPad, score board, and penalty box for all home games
- Reschedule or adjust schedule as needed
- For District Games – there is a protocol on District websites and forms to use
- Find date with other team’s manager
- Submit reschedule request – online
- Process with D1
- Process with D8/D2?

- Coordinate Team Photos – usually with program as a whole
- Coordinate scrimmages with other programs
- Tournaments – potentially communicate room blocks and/or team social
- Coordinate and communicate team end-of-year party
