About Langford Park Hockey
Picture this: a brisk Minnesota winter night at the neighborhood park. A few flurries are drifting through the sky, illuminated by the lights reflecting off of four sheets of smooth ice. Through your earmuffs you hear the distinct sounds of sharp blades on hard ice, frozen pucks against snow-backed boards, the coach's whistle and the rumble of a nearby train.
A memory from your childhood? Maybe, but also a scene on most winter nights at St. Paul's Langford Park, home of the Langford Park Hockey program.
Sure, we use indoor ice for games and early season practices. But outdoor ice is what we are about, and as soon as it comes in, team practices for Mini-Mites through PeeWees are held under the lights at Langford Park.
65th Annual Winter Classic
Coming up on January 26-28, 2024 is the Langford Park Hockey association 65th Annual Winter Classic. The Winter Classis is an OUTDOOR “Pond” Hockey Tournament. Ok, it’s not really a pond the kids skate on, but we flood the field outside our St. Paul Park Recreation Center to make what we call the best outdoor ice in the city. It's a Squirt C, 8-team bracket tournament this year. But wait - we've also got a Mite Jamboree on Saturday from Noon-2pm and the Mini Mite Scramble on Sunday from 1-3pm.
Not a hockey player? The general rink is open the entire weekend. Grab a Winter Classic Sausage hot off the grill and wash it down with some Hot Cocoa by the fire pit. And put on your "dancing skates" for a Saturday evening (7:30pm) Skate/Dance to some tunes! We'll see you there!

Squirts (U10)
Our Squirts team is Co-Ed, C-Level hockey.

Starwhals (U10)
Starwhals is a girls team in cooperation with Minneapolis Titans and Edcumbe.

About Langford Park Hockey
Langford Park is located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our hockey program operates out of the Langford Park Rec Center at 30 Langford Park and serves families in St. Anthony Park and surrounding neighborhoods. We sponsor teams for kids ages 4 to 14.
